r at the Van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam, where I took my father for his 70th birthday for a splendid lunch.

When we arrived at the Seafood Bar around 15 people were waiting to be seated by one of the young but friendly waiters. Luckily I had reserved a table for three.

We chose de Zeeuwse Oesters, squid a la planche and a seafood platter for one person. The seafood platter is very richly filled, so our three tummies were absolutely satisfied. As we decided fish must swim, we ordered a perfectly pairing Sancerre, which was absolutely value for money.
